Art Making Pondering
The piece here is a digital collage I made for a book I recently did using a crown binding that my friend John Arbuckle showed me. http://artjuvenation.blogspot.com/ I do love to create these fantasy worlds. The digital process can help do this but I find myself now feeling that these kinds of things are now leaving me a bit empty sometimes. I have been feeling the need to go deeper and plan to do that in a journal I have just made. I think it is good to step back from time to time to think about what I am doing and why am I doing it. Do any of you take time to do that? I do plan to continue to make some things like this digital collage as I think it's fun and I like doing it but I need to balance that with making some things more personally authentic and not really to share in the same way. I realize that both are OK and I need to balance both kinds of art making.

Questioning and challenging ourselves only brings forth the best we can offer. We push ourselves when we try the new. Good for you for pushing yourself in new directions. There is greatness in what you have already presented and who knows what you will bring forth by your adventure and courage to see where your limits expand and take you.
ReplyDeleteGreat collage, Terry. I haven't gotten into digital collage, and probably won't. There are already far too many options and possibilities for collage without throwing in the digital angle, imo.
ReplyDeleteI frequently question why I do what I do. Once I removed everybody else from the equation, I've been letting my muse nudge me forward into areas that are completely new for me.
Your collages (hand done or digital) always create new worlds to enter. It is definitely a signature style of yours.
ReplyDeleteThis spread is amazing. Seth is right your spreads are always like stepping into another world you have created for us.
ReplyDeleteIt's always good to take a step back and evaluate what we are doing and where we are headed. I love stepping out of my comfort zone and trying something new.
This is wonderful, Terry! Coming from someone who doesn't work in the digital arena at all, I have to say that using technology seems to be a way to really let those creative juices flow. Love this piece!
ReplyDeleteI am not sure how I missed this one but I absolutely love it.
