I want to show a mini collage book I
made- using monoprints and the page backgrounds are monoprints.the
closed book is 2 1/2 X 3 1/2 so the page spreads are 3 1/2 X 5. I
clipped bits of text from a romance novel out of context to tell this
story. This was great fun.

When trapped Inside From the Freezing Cold- I Journal
We have had a cold snap once again and it makes it not only unpleasant to be outside but sometimes dangerous as well. I am thankful I have a nice art space to work in. So it was time do open the journal again.
3 steps forward- 5 steps back- in the dance of life it's so easy to get lost-hard to learn new steps sometimes and yet the old steps are not fulfilling anymore. Learning that what I thought was a misstep was in fact an opportunity for growth. Time to slow-dance to the music of a new dream.

Art Journaling Always Grounds Me
Well it was a wonderful feeling working in my journal again. Like usual not sure how this color scheme appeared again. We are now heading into the challenging part of winter- for us up here it is only half over- Have been missing my art buddies- I started a spread and found the state maps where they live- I had tore those out for something else and never used them- well they ended up in here. I am calling this spread Missing Them.

Book Collaboration
I did this accordion book start a couple of weeks ago. It's for Jacki Long- an incredible artist and dear friend. http://jackilong.blogspot.com/ http://instagram.com/jlonginc I do love these book collaborations as I love making books and I love collaborating with other artists.
Jacki will work her magic on the center 2 spreads. This is the front of the book.
This is the back of the book. Jacki can add what ever she wants where ever she wants on this side.

Can You Belive 2 Posts in a Row!
Gelli prints drying

Folded covers
First finished journal
Every since I saw Roxanne Coble's mini journals she made when she posted them on her blog. http://bybun.com/ (You will need to scroll down) I have been trying to figure out how I wanted to do my take on mini journals. Well I decided to do a Gelli print session. I printed 2 sides of paper that I used for the covers- these covers are an origami folder or wallet. For the pages i did one side and I folded a cut the sheet to make an meander book and the 2 ends slip into the cover. I have completed one and I have folded covers for several more- that would be my usual- make several. I am going to have a lot of nice art time journaling on these little pages. The outside dimensions of a closed mini journal is 2 1/2" X 3 1/2 ".
