Snowed under

Well we have received snow over the month since I posted last but this also refers to me almost snowed under from taking 3 online art classes.  I am really being stretched  in different ways.  The first few spreads are from the Pathways and Wanderings class- this is really a book of the seasons.  I still have yet to do the two spreads for fall.

This is my second winter spread- there is a mini book attached on the lower right with quotes.

Some of the exercises include doing table top arranged collages meant to just be photographed.

This is my first  Spring spread. The bird is a block print I carved.

This is my second Spring spread.  I scanned a drawing of mine and cut it apart to use in this spread. The leaves are printed from a leaf shape block I carved and printed on green paper.  And in the lower left is another mini-book I attached.

This is my first Summer spread.  It's about memories of fishing with my father and grandmother when I was very young.  The background is  done with CitriSolv on a National Geographic spread.  The fish I cut from some wrapping paper.  I included the Mer-Man as I use to daydream about being one when I was very young.

This is the second Summer spread.  I use to chase and catch butterflies to mount- freaks me out now that I did that- I was in elementary school.

  1. I so adore your use of imagery... heads or tails? brings up a lot for me.. and a brilliant use of scale, no pun intended! Ha, and then using your drawing to incorporate, really brings that spread together.. wonderful work!

  2. Just love seeing all these together. So inspiring.

  3. I stopped and enlarged each one and just took each in slowly. Very powerful work here, Terry! Is that Thomas as a merman?

    1. LOL I will share that with Thomas-it's a favorite Victorian clip art I use a lot this time he became a mer-man in another he has wings in fact the piece I had in Seth's book is this guy with wings.

  4. Wonderful work Terry!
Like John, I enlarged and enjoyed each one for it's own intrinsic beauty!
    You are amazing! ♥♥♥

    1. Thank you Connie! I have your stamp people ATC you gave me on a little easel by my computer.

  6. Fabulous stuff, Terry! I like the mix of drawing, printmaking, and paper cutouts. And the mini books in the corner are a really fun touch.

  7. Love your pages Terry. I took an online course with Roxanne a few years ago and loved it! I would have liked to join in with this one too, but I am already taking two others, and am behind on both of them. Very lovely work... glad you steered me to your blog.

  8. Hi Terry,
Thanks for your lovely comments on my latest spreads. I feel I have really moved a step forward in my expression on paper. I love your latest artwork here too!
Especially the photos of the gathering together of the elements, and the stories about all of them. I agree the merman looks like Thomas. I feel the same way you do about having a lot on at the moment myself. So much to do with online classes and my own art.
My favorite spread here is the 2nd Winter one, I love crows, and the energy and emotion you have expressed in the layout of it all is so strong. I esp love the background wow!!!x
