This collage titled Data Man is a hand cut and paste one. It all came together when I clipped those words on the purple background from a magazine article. It really made me think about the changes I have seen in my lifetime to date. in the early 80s when I finished graduate school- no one had their own computers.Yes it was just my portable typewriter. No spell check- just white-out. No cell phones...no internet. Now the world is so connected in some ways- can't imagine life without computers- they are as much a necessity for communication as they are an art tool for creating.
I can't imagine life without computers either. However, I can imagine life without a cell phone and Facebook! I remember those days of writing papers and typing them into the wee hours of the morning. I, too, got my master's degree using the latest invention of the typewriter!
ReplyDeleteClever collage. And I certainly remember white out!
ReplyDeleteOh I must confess I am a technology junky. Just ask my partner! Although I do enjoy getting away from it all. Great piece to get us thinking and talking, Terry!
ReplyDeletePS. I still use white out in some art pieces, Seth.
