It's For You

This is number two in the new series.   The title is: He Said He Would Call. Like the previous one,
the background is a Gelli print.  The rest is a combination of digital and hand cut and paste.  I had great fun doing this one- I remember using a dial telephone like this one when I was little and it was a party line- for those that never experienced that- you shared the line with several others and when you picked up to call if someone was on- you could listen to their conversation!  There is a story to be told with this collage and I hope you come up with your own.

  1. Love it! I am so excited by your new series. Gelli on my art friend! I remember those party lines and rotary phones. We were on a multi-party line for awhile and then a two-party line. You have brought back memories.

  2. I love the way your collages suggest a story, Terry. And not just this one -- it is often the case. I wonder if you'd want to issue them as a set of card-sized reprints to use as creative writing prompts? Or bound in a book with a collage on a lefthand page and the righthand page (or a few pages) blank for a bit of flash fiction (or poetry)? Might be kind of a fun thing, don't you think?

  3. I love the way the heads/faces of the major figure in each of the first two compositions in this series extend beyond the edges of the picture-plane. It lends an element of mystery to each piece and invites the viewer to participate on the creative process by bringing their own experiences and ideas into the story.

  4. Yeah, finally able to comment(Yeah blogger). This spread is wonderful. For me it reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode. And I totally agree with Robert. The gentleman edging off the piece adds to the mystery.
