I finished this journal spread last night. I am really liking working in different layers. Also what is different for me is that I start each spread now without any preconceived idea of what the spread will be about. I just start in. I am dealing with our severe winter by working in my journal and I am taking 2 online art classes. Who knew that this would even be possible not that many years ago!

Oh What a Time
I was in Long Beach CA for 5 days. A surreal experience as when I left to fly over it was 25 below here in Bemidji. There flowers were blooming- green grass- I was there to spend time with my art friends Brian Kassle http://apaperbear.wordpress.com/ and John Arbuckle http://artjuvenation.blogspot.com/ Brian was a terrific host- the three of us have been exchanging art for over 2 years and this was the first time we were all together. The three of us attended a workshop taught by Orly Avineri and Seth Apter. The workshop was titled If Walls Could Talk. The experience was nothing short of incredible. Seth and Orly are wonderful teachers. Spending time with my art brothers making art was a dream come true. I was also able to spend the day before and the day after the workshop art journaling with my friends. The first spread was done at Brian's house and the second one our friend Irene Rafeal hosted the art making. The photos are of my friends and two journal spreads I did while there. I was also able to connect with my dear friend Jacki Long.

Target Challege
These Two Collages were done for a project that Laura Tringali Holmes started. She offered these really old Sears shooting targets to people to use them in a collage. I had great fun with this. She has a blog for this. http://thetargetpracticeproject.blogspot.com/ The first on here is titled Marked Men and is a combination of digital and cut and paste. The second one is titled The News Wasn't Good. That one is all digital. It is such great fun to participate in these things.

The Start of The Postcard Collaboration #2
I am going to try to post the booklet that Allan Bealy sent to me - he started each postcard and I finished them. So I will show his start and then how I finished it. The first one is the booklet.
Postcard Collaboration #2
This postcard collaboration is different in that Allan Bealy sent me one of those old postcard booklets that are all hooked together and he had started collages on each one- I made my own booklet using Gelli monoprimts as backgrounds and started collages on those for him to finish. The next post I will share the finishes I did on the postcards in his booklet.

January Fun
These are the Artist Trading Cards I made for my groups. I have so much fun with these each month. I tend to work on them all at once. The backgrounds were all cut from a Gelli print. I do so love to cut and paste.
